A Few Random Surprises

Has anyone noticed who has the ML league in triples at this point in the season? No? Take a moment and go check - I'll wait here for you.

...

Did you check? No, seriously - go give it a look.

That's right - Steve Finley. Previously of Steve Finley - Abner Doubleday's Mentor fame. Jurassic Steve has 7 triples on the season right now. That's unbelievable! Can it continue? Absolutely not!

----------------

Scott Kazmir has apparently gotten over his problem of giving up too many walks. He's 6-2, with a 1.38 WHIP. He's still only 22 years old, and needs to be traded for in every league you're in - especially keeper leagues.

----------------

I targeted Felipe Lopez in as many leagues as I could this year. But I did so expecting a legitimate run at 20/20 - not 20/50. I don't see any reason he can't keep this up, especially if Freel is going to remain under-utilized.

----------------

Juan Cruz is the devil. This Jekyl & Hyde routine is enough to give anyone fits. Clearly, he's extremely talented. Except when he's giving up oodles of runs in a matter of pitches. If you have room, stash him - but don't expect too much. At this point, if you need pitching help, it can't hurt to play a little buy-low.

----------------

Is Miquel Cabrera the most underrated player in the league? His HRs are low (6), but he's still hitting .327. He'll get his 33 HRs, don't worry. He may end up with just 92 RBIs and 95 Runs, but he's someone to target right now.

----------------

Jeremy Hermida is secretly undercover in a gypsy conclave, and not on the DL for a hip flexor. Otherwise, how can you explain his 2 month absence? He's never coming back - he's reading palms and telling fortunes while protecting America from the horrors of carny folk.
